Peace And...

Made my way, serpentine-like, to the Riverfront Trail thanks to the Arch project. As I went down a little hill, saw a group of people on one end of the parking lot and Alison on the other.

My Spidey-sense started tingling. It's unusual to see non-bicyclists on this parking lot unless the Rams are playing.

Greeted Alison and did a mental checklist of the things in my car. I could replace everything but wasn't keen to return to broken windows. I expressed concern to Alison and she felt similarly but we rode on. I also took into a account that bicyclists hop on and off the trail at different times during the day. Still was happy to see a police officer around mile three and, later on, a bicycle officer near mile five...

There's something so peaceful about being on the trail looking at the green grass, blue sky, muddy water and the family of turkeys. Not so peaceful were all of the little squished frogs along the path. Not sure what happened there.

Sweetness

Crossed the river to attend Cindy's Christmas Eve class which also doubled as a fundraiser for Compassionate Friends.

It was a very sweet class with holiday tunes in the background and props galore. The studio also made the experience special. It's cozy, has inviting colors and just about as many lights (soft) as props.

I think everyone should experience restorative yoga but definitely before major events.

At the end of class we gathered in a circle, put or left hand over our heart and our right hand on the person next to us and sang om three times which inspired  powerful feelings of connectedness, compassion and peace.

Peace Source

In one of Farty Girl's recent posts, she talked about a place that provides constant peace. My most peaceful place has been the pool whether it's indoors or out. Must admit, though, outdoors moves me more.

Yesterday, I chose the pool over yoga although I could have stretched myself and done both but I'm trying not to run myself ragged.

I headed out to Hazira's where the pool is at, asked her to put sunscreen on my back, stole a couple of bites of watermelon and stayed in the pool for about two hours.

I got in about 15 minutes of swimming before I got chatted up -- first by a woman who left her daughter in the shallow end while she talked to me and next by a man who was there with his wife and kids. Apparently, the wife and kids had other people to talk to.

I darted underwater whenever one of them got distracted as I tried to get in at least 30 minutes of swimming.

I missed yoga, though, because I'm finding that it's been a place of peace as well.

After swimming, I headed to Hazira's and ate more watermelon. I'm really digging the ritual of swimming then watermelon. Apparently, I like water inside and out.

Wednesday: more sunscreen, swimming and watermelon. ☺

What's been moving you lately?
