They Eat Walnuts, Don't They?

Yesterday the 'Fugee asked me if I eat walnuts. Sure, I eat walnuts. I use them in the Vegan Sloppy Joes that I cook but I can't eat them like you eat them. For emphasis, I picked up the bag.-- 1/4 a cup = 130 calories. The 'Fugee had about 300 calories in her cup...

Had a bicycling date with Alison and one of her friends. Today was supposed to be the day that I did the MS bike ride but that didn't work out for any of us. Maybe next year. Instead, I took it to the riverfront. The clouds were beautiful and I felt as if I'd been out of town on a short vacation afterward...

Right Before Take Off

Hi-Definition Clouds
Checked out Instagram when I got up this morning and the first post that I spotted was a Gayle King one. When I saw the numberon her scale,  it took me back down memory lane. Remembered how good it felt to be at 184.

After bicycling did a bit of uncluttering which always included tossing paper. Among the papers that I tossed (into recycle bin),  I'd clipped a page from Shape magazine:
6,000
Times The Average Woman Will Weigh Herself In Her Lifetime...
Yesterday stopped by Food Truck Friday and got Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese from Revel Kitchen since I've been wanting to try their food. The pasta was gluten-free. Not even sure that I know what that means.

I might have also gotten a cupcake. Knowing that I have a weakness for cupcakes, I should keep my distance from cupcake trucks.

Gluten-Free Butternut Squash Concotion
Went to JC Penney and couldn't believe it when I spotted a pair of shorts with pockets on sale for $10.36. Sold! I also had a coupon for $10 off $10 dollars or more. Wasn't sure if they'd let me use it but they did. Felt like a thief walking out the door.

It Still Had Calories

Met Chiquita to view the memorial DVD with pictures of my aunt plus family. Hadn't planned on it so I didn't have time to go home and eat lunch.

Kept thinking about what would be suitable to eat from the vending machine and decided to eat some expired (by five months) pear crisps which I almost threw away until my next door neighbor at work reminded me that, not only were they sealed, they were also freeze-dried and that's what I had for lunch and I didn't feel terribly hungry which makes me feel like I'm on automatic and overeating a lot.

The Expired Ones
On Sunday I made a stir-fry and used an Archer Farms' sauce which was too sweet. Otherwise, I haven't been cooking and stopped by Lulu's Local Eatery after work today and got a sweet potato black bean burger. Also got a peppermint mocha cupcake. It was vegan but, yeah, it still had calories.

It's kind of amazing that when I feel like I'm on my best behavior, nothing happens in the weight loss department but when I'm indulging...

Feeling a bit out of control but I guess this, too, shall pass. We'll see how my carpe diem attitude impacts the weight loss.

If I Were Still Addicted To Cupcakes

Cupcake fans can find lots to love in New York City provided quite the chuckle.

I used to be such a cupcake fan and I enjoyed a good McArthur's Bakery cupcake because they reminded me of a Hostess cupcake with cream in the middle.

Once upon a time when I was in high school, I used to put Colby cheese on top of a Hostess cupcake which is somewhere in the neighborhood of battering a Mars bar and frying it. I believe that I was mimicking my grandmother with having the cheese on top of the little brown delight.

The cupcake article, in and of itself, was not particularly funny but I had to laugh, yes, out loud when I read about the CupcakeStop -- a truck that sells cupcakes and has no fixed location. You can find the location of the truck by following the company on Twitter. For some reason, I find the idea of a cupcake truck hilarious and I know that, if I were still addicted to cupcakes and in New York, I would be looking for the CupcakeStop which has 7,100 followers on Twitter. Here's a sample tweet:

Parked on 5th between 22nd and 23rd. The new Cream Cheese Brownie cupcake is unreal!

While I'm avoiding cupcakes, remind me to avoid the Eurochocolate Perugia festival too. I would definitely find myself in trouble.
