Inside Of Me

I got caught selling drugs in an intense dream that I had last night.

I have been thinking about money but I also think it was a conversation that I had with a colleague about her ex-boss who got caught embezzling that set the stage for that dream.

When I got discovered selling drugs, I told myself -- You thought you had money problems; now you really have problems...

Before yoga on Monday, Alison handed me a necklace. I had forgotten all about the Shiva Lingams that we'd picked up at the Crystal Festival back in September.

When I saw the necklace, talisman popped into my head. Alison told me that she could adjust the placement of the charms and put them all at the bottom but I like them where they are...

I am finishing up Downtown Abbey, Do Your Om Thing and I just finished watching Minimalism: A Documentary About The Important Things. I have enjoyed them all.

Still thinking about Carrie Fischer and Debbie Reynolds. Am I surprised? No. My great aunt and her daughter died hours apart. Life is beautiful, very weird and hard etc.

I feel like there's a little minimalist inside of me. Now, I just need to unearth that little one so that no one needs to deal with my clutter when I'm gone.

Leaning

Got to work on Wednesday and the building had no water. After returning from my second field trip, we got word that the building would close. One of my coworkers squealed and many smiled. Even though I had to do some work from home, I was happy too. I looked for a yoga class to jump into but the timing didn't work. Hashtag -- can't have everything.

But wait...the water folks wouldn't finish until noon the next day so we reported at 1. It was an unexpected gift that I appreciated tremendously since my reservoir was about depleted.

I slept beautifully, stretched like a cat in the morning then rolled out. I had time to make it to a yoga class and time to stop by Trader Joe's.

Alison had already given me intel on Jim, the yoga teacher. I wrote her back to say that, yes, he is a slow, smooth operator.

During class, I realized how much I like gate pose.

Poses that I remember that I like:

Gate

Fish

Half Moon

Savasana

I've been reading an old O: The Oprah Magazine (June 2013). In that issue, Oprah interviews Brene Brown who talks about foreboding joy and dress-rehearsing tragedy. Brown mentions this man, married for 40 years, who never got too excited about anything because he didn't want to be disappointed but when he heard that his wife had been killed, he realized that he should have leaned harder into those moments of joy.

Maybe joy is what I was leaning into in gate pose...

Stuff People Give Me

'Tis the season. Okay, it's kinda over but folks still have outside decorations and lights up. Some of the stuff people gave me was because of The Season and some of the stuff was because I was being thought of...

Exhibit A:

Gift from The Silver Cat

Exhibit B:

My Aunt Girt gave me these spicy peanuts. She got them from the Farmers' Market.

Exhibit C:

From a colleague who was shopping in a hurry and picked up an L. I was tickled pink because, before, L's were iffy. Now, I can pretty much wear a universal L. Really, it's the little things that make me happy. ☺

Exhibit D:

My friend's niece sent these my way. :o, Belgian chocolates used to make me weak in the knees.

Three pieces will set you back 220 calories. With 15 g of saturated fat, no wonder they taste so good.

Exhibit E:

Joy Cup

Contents of Joy cup

Exhibit F:

Spontaneously Given

Exhibit G:

A friend of my aunt's gave her sunflowers from her yard. My aunt boiled the seeds in salt water...

Have you gotten any interesting stuff lately? Hope that you're enjoying Saturday.
