Not A Good Thing

Had a dream that my car was acting up and when I pulled over and looked under the hood, everything was elevated and there was a water faucet with a thick stream of water coming out. The car hadn't stopped running yet but I knew that the whole water coming out was not a good thing.

Another no-brainer dream... I'm worried about my car and wonder how much more mileage I'll get out of it.

Before I went to bed last night, the protest in Ferguson was described as, largely, peaceful and it's still being described that way but imagine my surprise when I woke up and checked out the Twitterverse and learned that 47 people had been arrested.

The most disturbing news, recently, is about the St. Ann, MO cop who pointed his assault rifle at a protester and said I will fucking kill you. Get back.

  1. I saw that video too, and couldn't believe what I was seeing. After everything that's happened. It really demonstrates what the problem is in Ferguson (and everywhere else). I'm having a lot of thoughts that I haven't worked out yet - I seem to be thinking the people SHOULD violently riot! If the police force doesn't protect people, if they actively persecute and murder people, why should those people obey them? Why should they participate in a law/justice system that is massively UNjust?

The only thing that keeps me from endorsing a full-fledged citizen assault on the PD is knowing who will get the worse end of that situation. I don't want people hurt, any people, and that can't possibly work out well.

On the other hand, look at that crazy cattle rancher guy, putting up highly armed resistance with a group of obviously violent people, and the feds backed down. Of course, they're not going to shoot a bunch of white people...

I'm feeling a lot more Malcolm than Martin recently.

I don't know. I'm having nightmares every night too. I wish the president would be more involved in this, but I know he's got a lot on his plate right now, internationally.

  2. I'm experiencing the same kind of dilemmas that you are.

And, yes, after everything that has happened, it was shocking and scary to hear those words come out of that cop's mouth.
