I Should Be

I was off yesterday and today. At the max again with vacation units and I should be packing for Jamaica but...

During the holidays, gave Gloria a stocking stuffer Groupon to the Campbell House Museum. Thought that she would go with Little Buddha but she wanted to go with me so we went yesterday.

We were met by a retired history teacher who is the docent along with two UMSL students who are docents in training. I don't know why but it surprised me that the students are history majors...

The Campbells had 13 children but only three survived -- their health problems were related to indoor plumbing and untreated water. One of my favorite rooms in the Campbell House is the morning room -- think every house should have one...

Morning Room

I had my eye on a yoga retreat with a local studio but the prices were kind of crazy for a March depature. Airfare was $630-ish which I would have paid but I couldn't get a decent time. It was either leave at 6:15 a.m. or travel for 18 hours.

I was willing to concede on the time but wondered who would get met to the airport at 6:00 a.m. or earlier. I thought about leaving my car at the airport or staying in a hotel near the airport but both options were around the $100 mark. So, anyway, here I sit until...

Rested

I used to work on a literary journal and one of the guys who used to work with me came to pick up some old issues (and VHS tapes) that I've been storing at my house.

Had the VHS tapes mixed in with my own. Wait, VHS. Tapes of TV shows and movies that are all accessible on DVD. I remember the professional organizer (years ago) telling me to take a look at outdated media. Guess I forgot. Unfortunately, there are not many places that recycle VHS tapes.

In other news, my laryngitis is no longer acute.

Stayed put for most of the weekend and could tell the difference this morning because I felt rested.

It was a gorgeous weekend. Aired out my bedroom and several other rooms. Unintentionally aired out my car overnight.

And the air in my office is lovely thanks to this officewarming gift.

Temptation

Try not to over-think it, Jen said as we were in a sumo-like position dipping our shoulders left then right.

Try telling that to a chronic over-thinker.

Before we started practicing yoga, we meditated. Closing the eyes lets the body know that it's time to go inside...

I instinctively close my eyes when I do self-chakra connections and it does make me feel internally calm.

After yoga, I felt like I wanted to exercise more but, the previous day, I practiced kettlebell, walked and did yoga so it was time to let my body recuperate.

I drew a bath, put in eucalyptus salt plus lavender bubbles, got deeper into Cheryl Strayed's Wild and emerged an hour later.

I woke up before the alarm and, though horizontal, experienced equal standing.

I got a surprise in the mail from Yoga Journal who is tempting me with a Netflix-like program and the offer is totally inviting but this offer finds me at a time when I'm trying to dig deep and unclutter but I definitely think Gingerzingi should have a DVD like this one.
