Window Shopping St. Patrick's Day Style

I don't consider myself an superfluous extravagant consumer but it's definitely hard at times. So much eye candy, so little...I'm constantly giving myself little lectures. For instance, I was in Big Lots about a week ago and I saw some sturdy Okabashi sandals for $5 dollars. Did I need them? No. Did I want them? Yes, I wanted them even though I had just bought a pair of flip flops to replace my last Okabashi sandals. I wanted them as back-up sandals. You never know when you'll need another pair, right?

I was watching The Ellen Show during lunch and she had some silly big hair contest. She gave the three contestants Specialized bikes. I want one of those bikes. I wonder if I were able to get on The Ellen Show if she'd give away bikes again...

If I had beaucoup money, I would spend it on flip flops and bicycles. Oh my.

Without further ado, here are some other things that I would get:

When I look at these items, I realize how few things I need to exercise and relax.

What do you purchase with your discretionary dollars?

Post Script: Just found out that Okabashi will accept old shoes for recycling. Sweet.

  1. I have those goggles - at least 5 pair. I keep losing them, or my kids do. And a girl can never have too many bikes, can she? I hope you get the Specialized. I've ridden the Allez and thought it was a sweet ride.

  3. @Diane,

    Whew, I thought I was the only one with many pairs of goggles. :) I'm going to check out Allez since I've never seen one.

    And, by the way, I keep losing tally counters. :(

    @TJ,

    I try not to have too many colors going on. Right now, I have soft pink flip flops that match my swimming suit. Now, if I can find some matching goggles. ;)

  4. Honestly, I spend my extra dollars on the kids. When I really need some clothes I will get some, but the kids get the most stuff. What's fair about that??

    I love the green coordinating you have going on there!

  5. Diane,

    That's not fair at all. Start making your list for Mother's Day. ;)

  6. I definitely see a color theme going on here. Yay springtime!

    I don't know what I would buy. I pretty much need to replace my entire wardrobe, from socks and underwear on up. The thing I really really need is a lightweight jacket that I can throw on when I need to look more professional for a meeting.

    Also all new makeup. I swear some of the stuff in the drawer is from high school.

    Hmmm, now I am tempted to check out our Big Lots for some sandals...:)

  8. @gingersnapper,

    I hope that you get your lightweight jacket. I need a windbreaker since the one I have is too, yay, big.

    Overall, my wardrobe is in an interesting state of affairs. I really need to do some spring organizing...

    @Shelley,

    I forgot to add a few things to my list. I've been debating about whether or not to get a digital scale. A scale of all things and I love Big Lots. :)
